Privacy Policy

Information we collect

EduAI stores only the information required to operate a school: full name, mobile number, role (Student, Parent, Teacher, Principal, Driver), school assignment, class/section, attendance, exam results, fees, transport routes, and notices. For optional features, the school may add date of birth, Aadhaar number (encrypted at rest), address, and parent contact details.

How we use it

• To run the school's day-to-day operations inside the app (attendance, fees, exams, transport, notices).
• To authenticate users via mobile number + password.
• To generate reports and exports for the school's own use.
• To send service notifications inside the app (birthday greetings, fee reminders).

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
• We do not run third-party advertising inside the app.
• We do not share Aadhaar, mobile, or contact details outside the school's own users.

Where data lives

Data is hosted on Supabase (Postgres) in a region chosen for India-based latency. Backups are encrypted. Access is restricted by Row-Level Security policies — a student cannot read another student's record, a teacher cannot read another class's data unless explicitly permitted by the principal.

Children

Student accounts are administered by their school. We do not solicit information directly from children. Parents/guardians who notice incorrect data should ask the school principal to correct it.

Terms of Service

Acceptable use

By using EduAI you agree to use it only for its intended purpose — administering or participating in your school. You must not attempt to access other schools' data, bulk-export data, or impersonate other users.

Account responsibility

Keep your password confidential. Notify your school principal immediately if you suspect unauthorised access. The school principal can reset any account password.

Suspension

We may suspend access if a user violates these terms, if a school's payment is unsettled past a grace period, or if a court order or legitimate legal request requires it.

No warranty

EduAI is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it reliable, but we do not guarantee zero downtime. Critical academic records (results, mark-sheets) should also be preserved by the school in physical or independent digital form.

Account & School Deletion

Removing a single user

1. Contact your school principal in person, by phone, or via the app's Helpdesk feature.
2. The principal removes the user from the school's roster through Settings → Users.
3. The removal takes effect immediately; the user can no longer log in.

Deleting an entire school

A school deletion is a guarded multi-stage process so nothing is lost by mistake:

1. Principal requests deletion from Settings → Danger Zone. The request travels to the platform admin.
2. Platform admin reviews and either approves or denies. Approval simply unlocks the principal's Delete button — no data is touched yet.
3. Principal confirms deletion by typing their mobile number's last four digits + the phrase DELETE MY SCHOOL. The school enters a 30-day soft-deleted state.
4. 30-day grace window: the platform admin can restore the school any time — every user, every record returns intact.
5. After 30 days, the platform admin may manually permanently delete the school. There is no automated job that destroys data. The action is irreversible and requires another typed-phrase confirmation.
